Michael William Bennett

Michael William Bennett, 55, of Mattydale, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 of heart failure at the Northeast Center for Brain Injury Rehab in Kingston, NY. He was the son of Janet (Koelling) Bennett and the late Richard Bennett.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of North Syracuse High School. He had a Fire Dept and EMT license from Daytona Beach Community College, and LPN license, and was a certified electrician. He recently was enrolled at Columbia College. Michael loved the fire service, country music, and was a former member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of the Malden Road United Church of Christ and attended Believers Chapel in Cicero.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Elsie and Bill Koelling and Margaret and Harold Bennett, as well as his uncle, Harold Bennett, Jr.

Michael is survived by his mother; a sister, Laurie (Rich) Copeman of Cicero; three nieces: Elise (Eric) Ginkel, Kaelyn (Christopher) Tooley, and Jillian Witz; an uncle, Richard (Anne) Koelling of Lake Tahoe; his aunt, Elinor Adams of Florida; a great niece, several cousins and many special friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 - 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
