Brenda G. Peck, 75, longtime resident of North Syracuse, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse and raised on the North side, Brenda was the daughter of the late Melvin and Laura Russell. She was a 1968 graduate of Central Tech High School in Syracuse.
Brenda loved out loud and treasured life’s small moments. Her superpower was her ability to take care of everyone. She loved with a beautiful smile on her face while doing it.
Brenda worked as a Nurse’s Aide during the 1980’s. She most enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom raising her family. She always had an open door and an open heart with a laugh that would fill any room. Brenda loved camping and fishing on Chippewa Bay with her family. She also enjoyed reading and painting ceramics. Brenda was a member of the former Westminster Presbyterian Church in Syracuse.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Carol Giordano, James Russell, and Colleen Trumble.
Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Edward Peck, who was her first love. The day Ed returned from Vietnam, it was love at first sight and the two have been inseparable ever since.
They had three children together: Edward (Lorry) Peck of Mexico, Laura (Craig Mueller) Frazee of Syracuse, and Linda (Todd) Smith of North Syracuse; her siblings: Patricia (Michael) Juskow of Cicero, Gloria Halko of North Syracuse, Douglas (Johanna) Russell of Liverpool, MaryEllen (Michael) Fortino of Syracuse, and Melvin (Mary) Russell of CA; her beloved grandchildren: Justice Frazee, Lauren Smith, Alanna Nyholm, Jasmine Frazee, Jesse Frazee, and Savanna Smith; a great granddaughter, Noel Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions in Brenda’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept #142, Memphis, TN 38101.
