Heather Byrne

Heather L. Simonds Byrne, 40, lifelong resident of Syracuse, died Wednesday at Francis House surrounded by her loved ones. Heather was a 1987 graduate of Henninger High School and resided on Gilbert Street for many years. She was the manager of the Hess Store on Court Street and at other locations in the Central NY area for the past eight years. Prior to that, Heather worked at the former Fay's Drug Store for several years at the Shop City and Sweetheart Corners locations.
She was predeceased by her father, Howard F. Simonds, Jr. in 2009.
Surviving are her daughter: Nicole Sereluca of Syracuse; her mom, Angela Simonds of Cicero; her mother: Sharon Baker of Pulaski; her siblings: Jamie Dan Glover of Rochester, Howard F. Jackie Simonds, III of Constantia, Jason Simonds of Cicero, and Justin Simonds of Liverpool; a maternal grandmother: Betty Barbery-West of Liverpool; her step-grandfather: Frank Porpiglio of Syracuse; two nieces: Marissa and Miranda; three nephews: Brian, Anthony, and Danny; two aunts, an uncle, and several cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, Monday at the funeral home followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please respect the family's wishes and make contributions in Heather's memory to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse NY 13208.
