Carol-Arden White

October 31, 1950 — July 29, 2025

Clay

Carol-Arden (Matthews) White undeniably left her footprint in this world as she prepared for the next, on the afternoon of July 29, 2025, with loved ones at her bedside. Born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 31, 1950, to the late Donald and Alice-Arden Matthews, Carol resided in Deerfield, NY during her childhood and graduated from Whitesboro High School. Mohawk Valley Community College launched her career into Advertising, which led her to positions with Raymour, Telergy and was the Executive Assistant to President John Keib, Time Warner Cable, prior to her retirement.

Active in Civic engagement, her most valued accomplishments were her sons, Jason and Bradley Fleming and cherished wife to her husband, Michael, wherein they shared 43 years of marriage. Carol showcased her creativity, especially during the harvest and holiday seasons. Cultivating in the spring and summer brought her immense joy. Her passions for music, history, baking, as well as cooking were exceptional and a gift to many. Grateful are we for her compassion, hospitality, generosity towards others and faithful servanthood.

Varied roles over a four-decade membership at Cicero United Methodist Church, Carol found herself as a Youth Leader, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Fellowship member, Mission Award recipient, et al. Golf, travel and her ’66 Mustang were also part of Carol’s repertoire, along with her pup Mister Bentley until Alzheimer’s made its way into her life. Through it all, she exuded love, grace, and the ability to sing throughout the rest of her days.

Adored by her family, Carol is survived by her loving husband Michael of Clay; two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Fleming of Buffalo, and Bradley (Bryanna) Fleming, Harrisburg, PA; along with granddaughters: Cassidy, Caleigh and Esther Fleming and grandson, Ian Fleming; her sister, Mary (Terrence) McCoy; niece, Amanda (David) Wentz; and great nephew, Alexander Wentz, all of Sackets Harbor; sisters-in-law, Catherine Kuepper of Clay and Laura (Rick) VanDusen of the Villages, FL; and her very best friend, Laurie Copeman of Cicero.

Immense gratitude is extended to Carol’s care team, Cathy Kuepper and Lisa Nash, for their exceptional efforts. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cicero United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer’s Organization. https://www.alz.org/
