Charles Brown Jr.

Charles “Rasheed” Brown Jr., 71, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Charlzie, a nickname given to him by his daughter, was a lifelong resident of New York City before moving to Syracuse this past year. He attended Pace of CNY and was a movie buff. Charlzie enjoyed playing Wii bowling, bingo and watching his favorite team, the NY Giants. He was a big snacker and a follower of the Muslim faith.

He is survived by two children: Anakei Thompkins of Syracuse and Charles “Chucky” Brown III of California; sisters, Synita Brown of Maryland and Linda Steed of New Jersey; five grandchildren: Imani (James Strong), Hanifiah, Jeffrey, Ihsannah, and Salayah; two great grandchildren, Kelanie and Zaire; his girlfriend, Brenda Nichols; and his furry companion, Babe.
