Jean (Coleman) Giegold

Jean (Coleman) Giegold, 89, of North Syracuse, died Friday, December 16, 2016. Born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, Jean was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Argood) Coleman.
Jean retired in 2000 from Syracuse Housing Authority. She taught calligraphy classes at Liverpool and North Syracuse High Schools. Jean was an active member in the Presbyterian Church, the Quilt Guild of CNY as well as a volunteer for many organizations. At the age of 50, Jean was the oldest graduate at OCC where she received her Associates Degree in Art. She was a former Girl Scout Troop Leader in North Syracuse.
Always putting others before herself, Jean's generous nature affected all she met. Jean will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Andrew Giegold; their two daughters: Susan (Victor Petit) Giegold of Liverpool and Bonnie (Daniel) Cleary of Bloomfield, NJ; and her two granddaughters, Samantha and Jennifer Cleary.
