Darwin A. Story

Darwin A. Story, 85, longtime resident of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Born in Watertown, New York, Darwin graduated high school and attended Syracuse University until he was enlisted in the US Army. He had a 40+ year career in various positions before retiring as a Foreman Machinist with Crucible Steel in Syracuse.

He was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Mary Elizabeth Story and by a brother, Robert.

Darwin is survived by his wife, Maria; their four children: Jennifer Story-Acevedo, Rebekah (Anibal) Story-Acevedo, Asa Story, and Erikah Story, all of Syracuse; a brother, David (JoAnne) Story of Delaware; his grandchildren: Marisa Story, Israella Acevedo, Silvia Acevedo, Olivia Acevedo, Gloria Acevedo, Ari Acevedo, Esai Acevedo, Isela Acevedo, Tais Acevedo, Juliana Starowicz, Jennifer Story, Asa Story, Sophia Story, Misael Story, David Alfred, and Arya Alfred; and three great grandchildren: Israel, Luciano, and Lorenzo.

All Services were private and at the convenience of the family.
