Dennis J. Bell

Dennis Bell, 81, of Clay, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025. Dennis worked as a typesetter in New York City for many years. Upon moving to Syracuse, he worked at Miller Brewing Company in Fulton until their closing in 1994. Since then, he worked as the maintenance man for St. Margaret’s School and Sweeney’s Garage.

Dennis was an avid sports fan, especially of the NY Yankees. He also enjoyed St. John’s College basketball and Syracuse University. Dennis coached basketball at St. Margaret’s for several years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 15 years, the former Sharon (Pierce) in 2021.

Dennis is survived by his two sisters, Linda Nelson of PA and Debra Bell of Brooklyn; a step-son, Bryan (Tracy) Pierce of Mattydale; his grandson, Liam Pierce; a brother-in-law, James (Terry) Pierce of Cicero, a sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) Skrocki of Clay; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Committal Services and Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
