Edmunda Jane Murphy

Edmunda Jane (Cummings) Murphy, 84, of Frisco, Texas passed away on April 18, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Edmunda was born on November 12, 1938, to Ruth and Robert Cummings in Syracuse, NY. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1956 and was married in 1959.

In 1983, Edmunda began her career with the Syracuse Visiting Nurses Association where she worked for 20 years and retired in 2003. She belonged to the Solvay Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary in the 1970s and 1980s. Edmunda enjoyed reading, catching up with friends on Facebook, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Edmunda was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Robert, her brother Robert, and grandchild, Michael. She is survived by her six children: Susan (Steve) McCaffrey, Sheila Anthony, Eileen Murphy, Nancy (Mark) McGrath, Thomas (Lisa) Murphy, and Kevin (Sandra) Murphy. Edmunda is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a niece, nephews and her close cousin, Mary Frances Darminio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, an organization Edmunda felt strongly about.
