Allen W. Elliott, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long illness at the age of 79 on September 25th. Born in Streator, Illinois, Allen was the son of the late Allen W. and Mary (Kalusa) Elliott. He married Louise K. Gollon of Mapleton, Illinois in 1960 and then received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He also served in the Army National Guard for six years in the 1960's.
Allen, Louise and family moved to North Syracuse in 1968. Most of his career was spent with Carrier Corporation where he held positions in Engineering and Quality Management with Carlyle Compressor Company, Carrier Headquarters, and Carrier Transicold. After 25 years he retired from Carrier in 1998.
He and many of his friends and coworkers were dedicated to backpacking, canoeing, and downhill skiing. He was an avid fly fisherman, a member of the 70+ Ski Club, the Adirondack Mountain Club, Trout Unlimited, the American Society for Quality Control, National Rifle Association, and was an active member of the Syracuse Pistol Club where he served on the Board of Directors. He was a commiunicant of St. Margaret's Parish in Mattydale.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Gollon; their three children: Cathy (Bill) Stone of Cazenovia, Dan (Victoria) Elliott of Fayetteville, and Susan (Bruce) Weller of Oswego; his brother, William (Linda) Elliott of Springdale, AK; four grand children, Desirae, Monty, Matthew and Adam; and four great grandchildren, Jay, Maryn, Billy and Layla.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer Service will begin on Wednesday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool.
