Louis H. Emore

March 9, 1929 — June 29, 2015

Louis H. Emore, 86, of North Syracuse, died Monday, June 29, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Syracuse, Louis grew up on the North side where he graduated from St. John the Baptist School. He resided in the Pitcher Hill area for over 60 years and was the son of the late Vetal L. and Edna M. (Burkey) Emore.

Louis was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War in the Military Intelligence. He retired in 1986 after over 37 years as a cutter grinder at New Process Gear in East Syracuse. Louis was the Past Commander in 1969-70 of the Mattydale VFW Post #3146 and past member of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Joan, in 2012.

Louis is survived by two daughters: Lou Ann (Kenneth) Hurlbert of Truxton, and Sharon Miller of Mattydale; his son: David (Michelle) Emore of Cicero; seven grandchildren: Adam, Adrienne, David, Ashley, Eric, Daniee, and Taylor; four great grandchildren: Dominic, Elaina, Savannah, and Gianna.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Funeral Services are Monday, 11 am at the funeral home followed by entombment in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
