Ethel Kelly, 95, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, Ethel grew up on the South Side of the city and in the Strathmore area. She was a life resident of Syracuse before relocating to Liverpool in the late 1970’s. Ethel was a graduate of Central High School in 1948 and one of six children born to the late Aristides “Harry” and Chrysoula “Chrissa” (Manera) Constantine.
Ethel retired in 1987 after nearly 40 years as a foreman in the television division of General Electric in Liverpool. She was an avid golfer and bowler, belonging to several leagues and courses including Lakeview Lanes, Strike ‘N Spare, and Drumlins. Ethel was socially active with the Salina Senior Center and Happy Times Senior Group. She traveled often to Atlantic City and the Turning Stone. She enjoyed playing cards weekly with friends including pitch and progressive. Ethel attended St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church in Syracuse.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her husband of 15 years, James Kelly, who died at the age of 44 in 1973 and by four siblings, Connie, James, Deno, and Andrew Constantine.
Ethel is survived by a brother, John Constantine of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ethel’s memory may be made to North Area Meals on Wheels, 413 Church St., North Syracuse, NY 13212.
Friends may call on Monday, June 29, from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral following at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse, with her husband James.
