Brian E. Hyde

December 24, 1959 — March 1, 2020

Brian E. Hyde, 60, of Clay, passed away Sunday, March 1st, 2020. A native of Fulton, Brian was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School Class of 1978 and resided in Clay for the past 31 years.

He retired in 2015 after 38 years as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics at Upstate Medical University. He was an Eagle Scout who continued to be active as a leader for several area troops and an avid hiker with ADK. Brian hiked the 46 High Peaks before his 46th birthday. He was the President of the Public Employee Federation Union of Nurses, President of the Syracuse Obedience Training Center and a member of the Heart of C.N.Y. Australian Shepherd Club. Brian attended Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in North Syracuse.

He was predeceased by his father, Douglas, and is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Ann (Sweeney); two children, Jessica Cieslik of Central Square and Shaun Hyde stationed in Ft. Levonworth, KS; his mother, Louise Hyde of Fulton; three brothers: Lee (Doris) Hyde of NC, Kevin Hyde of MT, and Gregg (Susan) Hyde of VA; and three grandchildren: Gianna, Angelina, and Jameson.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at 4:00 pm. Burial will be Monday, 10:00 am, in North Syracuse Cemetery.
