Isabell C. King, 90, of Mattydale, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026. Born and raised in Lowville, NY, Isabell was a 1953 graduate of Lowville High School. She was the daughter of the late Crystall and George Woodhouse.
Isabell was a cook at many location before she began cooking at NCO and Officer’s Clubs in Fort Drumm, NY. She studied at Armed Forces Culinary Arts Training before receiving her Chef certification. Before retiring, Isabell was the personal chef at Christan Brothers Monastery in Syracuse. She was a member of the Auxiliary and life member of the VFW Post #6912 in Lowville and a member of the American Legion #1832 in Mattydale. Isabell loved crocheting, adult coloring, and crossword puzzles. She was a former communicant of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Crogan.
Isabell was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Francis Karpp in 1984, by her daughter, Stacey Johnson in 1991, and by her grandchildren: Joshua in 1988, Jimmy and Dessie Johnson in 1991, and Michael in 2002.
She is survived by four children: Andrew and wife Rachel Karpp of San Francisco, CA, Vicki Pelno of Mattydale, Timothy Karpp of Tennessee, and Edward Michael and wife Robin Karpp of Syracuse; five brothers: Bruce, Lawrence, Gail, Ted and Neil; two sisters, Linda and Rita; her five grandchildren: Ericka, Sara, Dylan, Cassidy, and Brandon; and extended family.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 pm in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Crogan, NY.
