Richard "Dick" Jarvis, 83, of Baldwinsville, died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Van Duyn Nursing Home. Dick grew up in Eastwood and attended North High School. He resided in Mattydale most of his life while raising his family. He and his wife enjoyed a summer home at Brennan's Beach Campgrounds for over 25 years. Dick later moved to Liverpool and finally to Baldwinsville.
He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korea War. As a young man, Dick worked in the Kren Bat Factory which was his family's business. He retired after more than 20 years in the maintenance department of the VA Medical Center specializing in the mechanical and electrical areas. Dick was a member of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale and a former member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an avid softball player and golfer, who played on several leagues.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Jarvis, by his step-father, Frank Kren, and by a son, Daniel Jarvis in 1985.
Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Musa E. (Murray); four children: Richard (Liz) Jarvis of Liverpool, Doug (Amy) Jarvis of Fayetteville, Bob (Evelyn) Jarvis of Cape Coral, FL and Cherie (Michael) Chagnon of Liverpool; a brother: Harvey Jarvis of WY; his five grandchildren: Joshua (Margaret) Chagnon, Corey Chagnon, Stephanie (Patrick) Cooney, Benjamin Jarvis, and Chelsea Jarvis; three great grandchildren: Xandra, Macie, and Cian; and by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 - 4 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a service following at 4 pm.
