David Jay

December 31, 1967 — July 30, 2014

David Jay, 46, lifelong resident of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday at University Hospital. David was a 1985 graduate of Liverpool High and received his Associates' Degree in Stationary Design from Alfred University in 1987.

He owned and operated Home Base Sports Bar in the K-Mart Plaza in Mattydale for the past 10 years. David was also a machine operator at P.C.A. in Liverpool for the past 20 years. He enjoyed golfing and playing pitch at Home Base and Cerio's. David was an avid Vikings football fan and Boston Red Sox fan. He was a former member of Cold Springs Christian Reform Church.

David is survived by his parents, Nancy and Fred "Ken" Jay of Liverpool; three siblings: Christine (Christopher) Tivnan of Holden, MA, Kevin (Kesa) Jay of Slatington, PA, and Brian (Babs Copeland) Jay of Fulton; a paternal grandmother, Mary "Grama Jay" Waters of FL; and by four nieces.

Contributions in David's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services are Saturday, 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
