Joan Savage

Joan (Ouderkirk) Savage, 92, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 with her daughters by her side. Born January 1, 1934 to the late Donald and Ethel Ouderkirk, Joan was predeceased by her loving brother, Donald Ouderkirk, nephew, Paul Ouderkirk and son-in-law, Stephen Gagnon.

Joan spent her younger years growing up in the Bronx. She graduated from Syracuse Central High School and Powelson Business Institute. She was employed by General Electric for many years. She and her late husband of 65 years, William Savage, both retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Corp at which time they resided in Florida for 25 years before returning to Liverpool.

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Kristin Gagnon and Lauren (James) Wisnowski; three grandchildren: Jon Paul (Kristine) Gagnon, Stephanie (Christopher) DeSalis, and Nicholas (Ashley Shaw) Myers; great grandchildren, Alexis, Danica, and Asher Gagnon, Maddison and Eymarah Myers; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Savage.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Syracuse Home and McHarrie Place.
