Joan Tourot

Joan Tourot, 90, lifelong resident of Mattydale, passed away Sunday, February 4^th, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Joan was the daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Roeckelein) Dippold and a 1951 graduate of North High School.

She retired in 2014 at the age of 80 after working 50 years as an office manager.   Joan enjoyed spending time and caring for her family, especially their traditional Sunday afternoon gatherings.   She was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church where she served as a visiting Deacon, a Greeter, and a Communion Assistant.

She was predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Charles “Chuck”, in 1995 and by her siblings, Barbara Honis, Jean Fuller, Shirley Carroll, and John Dippold.

Joan is survived by her three daughters: Cynthia Seeley of Syracuse, Cathy (Bill) Scheuer of Hastings, and Lenora (Daniel) Pepe of Tennessee; five step-children: Denise (Carl) Smith of Constantia, Charles (Paula) Tourot, II of East Syracuse, Deborah Fitzgerald of North Syracuse, Terry Tourot of Liverpool, and Tammy Tourot of Syracuse; her siblings: Sue (Bill) Wademan of Camillus, Diane (Fred) Chase of Central Square, and Dolores Guernsey of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law, Carol Dippold of Lyncourt; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 435 S. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212 or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2507 James St., Suite 106, Syracuse, NY, 13206.

Funeral Services are Friday, 10 am, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in their Columbarium.
