Joanne C Downing

Joanne C. Downing, 72, of Baldwinsville, passed away Wednesday at Bishop Rehabilitation Center. Joanne grew up in the West end of Syracuse and was a 1971 graduate of West Hill High School. She resided in the North Syracuse and Liverpool areas for several years before moving to Florida. Joanne has resided in Baldwinsville since 2021.

She worked as a quality inspector for Landis Plastics in Solvay for many years before their closing. Joanne enjoyed going camping both in New York and Canada.

She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Gladys Crolick, and by her sisters, Beverly Feyalkowski and Bernice Pallon, several nieces and nephews.

Joanne is survived by her fiancée of over 40 years, James A. Messano with whom she resided; two sons, William Downing of Phoenix and Jesse Downing of Tennessee; and her 3 grandchildren Stephen Downing, Randy Brown and Heaven Skyler, a great grandson Jaxon Brown.

A Graveside Service and Burial will be held on Friday, 10 am in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Nedrow.
