John M. Foley, 66, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025. John was born and raised in Syracuse and was the son of the late James and Irene Foley. He received his associate’s degree from Bryant and Stratton and was a member of the VFW John Vendetti Post #1 in Syracuse. John enjoyed going to dinners and bars with his wife. He was an avid sports fan who loved the NY Jets and the NY Yankees.

He was predeceased by his siblings: James “Jimmer” Foley Jr., Thomas F. Foley, James C. Priano Jr., Joanie Kowalski, and Sally Scalzo.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, the former Kathleen (Adydan); three siblings: Elia McClusky of Solvay, Michael O’Mara of Georgia, and Mary Ellen “Mimi” (Tim) Scouten of Fulton; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many close friends.

Contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Road, 2nd Flr., East Syracuse NY 13057.

Friends may call on Monday, August 11th from 5:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Service of Remembrance following at 7:00 pm. Private burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
