John J. Sakowski, Jr.

John J. Sakowski, Jr., 59, resident of Mattydale, passed away Friday at his home. John resided in Mattydale for most of his life until the past 2 years which were spent in North Syracuse. He was a 1981 graduate of North Syracuse High School.

John enjoyed geometric sketching, camping, and listening to live music. He loved his music and played guitar and drums. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his father, John Sakowski, Sr. and by his uncle, David Brunell.

He is survived by his daughter, Megan Lasky of North Syracuse and her mother, Susan Minasian; mother, Patricia Donohue of North Syracuse; siblings: Tammy Hewson of North Syracuse, Denise Sakowski of Lockport and Jeffrey Sakowski of Canton; grandfather to Liam Williams, Christopher Williams, and IsaBella Ibrahim; an aunt, Susan Brunell, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
