Judy A. Blair of North Syracuse passed away Monday, September 1st at the age of 84. She was born in Columbus, OH to Maynard and Fannie Swanson. Judy grew up in Glenwood City, WI, where she was raised in part by her late Aunts Corrine and Louise Swanson after her mother passed away. Her father’s remarriage brought her to the North Syracuse area, where she has resided ever since. She and her family spent many summers in the Adirondack Mountains.

She was a 1959 graduate of the North Syracuse High School, where she met and later married her sweetheart Jerry Blair. She retired after many years as an administrative assistant with the Department of Defense.

Judy was a long-time member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in North Syracuse serving as an Usher and a member of the Quilters guild. She was an avid reader and a member of several book clubs. Her passion though was spending time with family.

She was predeceased by her parents Maynard and Fannie Swanson, her brother Bill Edwards and her stepmother, Margaret Swanson.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years Jerry Blair, three children Michelle (Jon) Barrett of NC, Jeff Blair of West Monroe, Kristen (Matt) Blom of Cicero; two sisters Cheryl (Peter) Harman of Penfield, Nancy (Joe) Beckley of NC, two grandchildren Michael and Sara Faucher of Liverpool, four nephews Dan (Linda) Blair, Chris Blair, Tim Blair, Shawn (Shawnee) Rozier and a niece Lauren (Steve) Powers.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church 435 S. Main St. North Syracuse, NY 13212.

Friends may call on Monday September 15th from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, 11 am at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
