Kathy J. (Tomb) Bentley, 73, of Plymouth Ave South in Mattydale, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A native of Syracuse, Kathy grew up in Mattydale and was a 1968 graduate of North Syracuse High School. She was the daughter of the late Clark and Elinor (Jeffers) Tomb. Kathy resided in Parish for 30 years before moving back to Mattydale in 2012.
She retired in 2013 after 25 years as a bookkeeper at various companies in the Syracuse area including Pepsi Cola, Agway, Chase Bank and CFPE Co. Kathy enjoyed craft projects like sewing aprons as well as other useful gifts. She and her significant other, Dick, were avid motorcycle enthusiasts who enjoyed riding all over the Northeastern U.S. Kathy was a member of the former Calvary United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her son, Ted Bentley, in 2004.
Kathy is survived by her significant other of 25 years, Richard "Dick" Norton of Mattydale; a daughter, Erica (DJ) Bentley-Elmer of Depew; her three siblings: Karen (Greg) Haberek of Jamesville, Ken (Connie) Tomb of Hudson Falls, and Kevin Tomb of East Syracuse; and her beloved grandson, Elliott.
All Services were held privately at the family’s convenience. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.Visits: 332
