Catherine Kennedy

Catherine "Katie" A .Kennedy, 76, formerly of 5530 Kathan Road, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter. Katie was a native of Cortland and had resided in Brewerton for 50 years prior to moving to North Syracuse two years ago. She was the daughter of the late Frank U. and Anna Funk.
Katie attended St. Mary's High School in Cortland. She retired in 1990 after 33 years as a self employed seamstress creating custom gowns and wedding dresses. She previously was employed at Cortland Corset Company, the Lamson Corporation, Montgomery Ward and Sacketts Restaurant and Toad Harbor Lodge. Katie worked on the Onondaga County Board of Elections, was a long time Auxiliary member of the Toad Harbor Rod & Gun Club and designed the club's logo. She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church in Brewerton.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbert "Web" Kennedy; three daughters: Margaret "Peggy" Joe Izzo of North Syracuse, Doreen "Turtle" Mike Maher of Bristow, VA, and Susan Rick Wiggins Exner of Auburn; her eleven grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Tyler, Ryan, Joshua, Matthew, Christina, Joanna, Michael, Stacey and Jonathan; and by three great grandchildren: Natalya, Vinnie, and Andrew.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer will begin on Friday, 10:15am, at the funeral home followed by an 11am Mass of Christian burial at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Brewerton. Burial will be in McGraw Rural Cemetery.
