Kevin W. Dix

Kevin W. Dix, 65 of Phoenix, NY passed away on July 19, 2025. A lifelong resident of Oswego County, Kevin was a beloved civil servant who dedicated his life to his family and community.

Always a man who was larger than life, his shoulders filled doorways while his boisterous laugh permeated the spaces he entered but his love for his family was overwhelmingly the largest part of who he was. Kevin spent his life loving everyone he encountered, whether kin or con; providing everyone with a life lesson or words of encouragement before they parted.

Serving Oswego County through his work as a Sheriff’s Deputy, his time as a local police officer, owner of Delta IX Supply and his dedication to various civic groups Kevin was continuously serving his community. Most recently Kevin’s involvement with the Masons brought him joy through their annual fish dinners. Ever the lover of animals, Kevin was never without a furry companion, his beloved rescues were always by his side. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and never missed a chance to hike Bald Mountain.

Kevin was predeceased by his father, Marvin Dix. Kevin’s family was the light of his life, he is lovingly survived by his wife of 21 years, Jamie Currier- Dix as well as his children, Joshua Dix, Katie (Derrick) Backus, Adam (Irem) Dix, Alyssa Currier, Lyndsay (Daniel) Cheely. His greatest joy in this life was being Papa to Taylor, Madison, Dale, Clara Jayne and Ford. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Dix and his siblings, Geoffrey (Sandra) Dix, Becky (Phil) Williamson and Rachel (Robert) Loy, his many nieces and nephews, his extended family through marriage, and his former wife Elizabeth Johnson. Everyone will forever have special memories of this gentle giant.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 23rd from 2:00 -7:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, Oswego. Funeral Services will begin Thursday, 10:00 am, at First United Methodist Church.
