Agnes B. Klodzen

September 9, 1925 — July 7, 2022

Agnes B. Klodzen, 96, of Mattydale, passed away Thursday, July 7th, 2022, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse, Agnes grew up in St. Lawrence County and was the daughter of the late Alger and Mary (Couture) Barkley. She lived in Mattydale since 1953.

Agnes enjoyed bowling, tending to her vegetable garden, and occasionally fishing. She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret's Church.

Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, John S. Klodzen, her son, Stephen Klodzen, and by a sister, Nora Benedict.

She is survived by her two children: John (Frances) Klodzen of Onondaga and Lisa (James) Doback of Collingswood, NJ; a sister: Hilda Backus of Liverpool; and two grandchildren: Ashley (Nicholas) Amalfetano and Christopher Doback.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Agnes's memory may be made to the Celiac Disease Foundation, 20350 Ventura Blvd., Suite 240, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at Noon. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
