Mary R. Leonardo, 95, of Driftwood drive in Liverpool, passed away Monday, April 10th at Van Duyn Nursing Home. Born in Syracuse, Mary grew up in the Eastwood area. She resided in Liverpool for over 25 years and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Alexandria (Florczyk) Tulowiecki.
Mary retired in 1983 after more than 20 years as an Inspector for Killian Bearing in Syracuse. She was an avid supporter of the Oneida Indian Nation who enjoyed music and polka dancing. Mary loved being the caregiver of her family; she cared for many throughout her lifetime. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Nick Leonardo, in 2007 and by their daughter, Sharon Slaby, in 2008.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa (Tony) Maravi of North Syracuse, and Joseph (Anne) Venner of Brooklyn, NY; a great grandson, Gabriel Maravi of North Syracuse; and by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin on Tuesday, 10:00 am at the funeral home with a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial following at St. Margaret's Church. Entombment will be in Assumption Mausoleum, Syracuse.
