Lucille Long

Lucille "Lu" M. Long, 79, of Liverpool, died Thursday at her home. Lucille was a native of Syracuse and resided in Liverpool for the past 56 years. She was the daughter of the late Ventura and Mary Siano Fortino.
Lu was a graduate of North High, Class of 1948. She retired in 1990 after 43 years as a merchandising Manager for C.E. Chappell's and Sons Department Store in Northern Lights. Lucille was a communicant of Christ the King Church where she served as an usher as well as other volunteer capacities.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Vito Long, in 2008.
Surviving are her siblings: Genevieve Vince Nicotra, Marlene Jerome, and Frank Annie Fortino, all of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Monday, 9:45 followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Catholic Church in Liverpool. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
