John Lukasiewicz

November 8, 1920 — February 14, 2011

John M. "Babe" Lukasiewicz, 90, of North Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday, February 14, 2011. John served as a corporal in the Marines in the Pacific during World War II, was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion in Mattydale, and was a Salina Civic Senior Member. John retired in 1983 from General Electric after 36 years and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
Surviving are his dedicated and loving wife of 63 years, Bertha "Bridget" Barch; two sons: Ronald J. Lukas Julie Southard of Phoenix, AZ, and David J. Lukasiewicz Barbara Bowden of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons,: Keith and Kevin Lukasiewicz and Eric Lukas; a brother: Charles "Ace" Lukasiewicz of Mattydale; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to either St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd, Mattydale NY 13211 or to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse NY 13208.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at St. Margaret's Church at 11 am Friday followed by burial in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
