Marilyn S. Maloney

Marilyn S. Maloney, 83, of Mattydale, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Loretto Nursing Home. Marilyn was born in the Valley section of Syracuse and grew up in Mattydale where she resided for most of her life. She was a 1955 graduate of North Syracuse High School and the daughter of the late James and Marion (Straub) Maloney.

Marilyn worked as an Operating Room Technician at Community General Hospital for 38 years before retiring. She began her training at Upstate Hospital. Since retiring, Marilyn volunteered at Community General for over 5 years. She occupied her time helping people with chores, errands and by simply visiting them. Marilyn was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and served as an usher for several years.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by a nephew, Patrick Savage.

Marilyn is survived by her siblings: James (Cheryl) Maloney of Mattydale and Judy (Richard) Savage of Liverpool; and by her nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services in Assumption Cemetery will be held at a later date.
