Mark A. Siegel, 71, of Clay, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Mark was a native of Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Plainview, Long Island before moving to Syracuse in 1975. He was a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Plainview and was the son of the late Arthur and Barbara (Seidner) Siegel. Mark received his associate degree in Hotel Management from SUNY Delhi.
He retired in 2016 after 38 years as the Assistant Food Service Director at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. Since then, he worked as a tax preparer for Jackson Hewitt and also owned "Your Place or Mine Tax Service." Mark enjoyed boating and kayaking on Oneida and Cayuga Lakes. He loved spending time with the “Bovina Boys and Babes” at his annual college reunion for many years. Mark was a regular blood donor through the Red Cross as well as a diehard S.U. Fan. He enjoyed working around the house, landscaping, and cooking. Mark attended Cicero United Methodist Church. He was a loving family man, always was willing to help others, spread kindness, and give of himself. He was the rock of the family.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, the former Deana (Jones); their three children: MaryJo Deinhart of Sebring, FL, David Middaugh of Syracuse, and Jamie (Jeffrey) Cook of Dewitt; his three grandchildren: Hunter (Hannah) Siegel-Cook, Victoria Lawrence, and Dyllan Lawrence; two sisters: Claudia (David) Tung of Atco, NJ and Janet Van Benthuysen of Lindenhurst, NY; two nephews, Aaron (Jillian) Rothstein and Dillon (Becca) Tung; a niece, Sierra Tung; and several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, May 10th from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, 11:00 am, at the funeral home.Friday, May 10, 2024
