Mary Trop, 99, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, December 18^th at Loretto Nursing Home. A native of Syracuse, Mary grew up and resided in Mattydale for 40 years prior to moving to Bridgeport. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Sable) Rakos.

Mary worked as a cashier for 12 years at C.E. Chappell's Department Store in Northern Lights. Since then, she has worked for several years at area grocery stores. Mary was a former member of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and had been attending St. Francis Church in Bridgeport.

She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Albert Trop, in 1981 and by a son, Robert Trop.

Mary is survived by her two children: Patricia Dolph of Liverpool and Thomas Trop of North Syracuse; five grandchildren: Kathy, James, Jeff, Jesse, and Matthew; and her seven great grandchildren: Tyler, Cooper, Olivia, Sadie, Claire, Wyatt, and Grayson.

Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Thursday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
