Christine Matteson

Christine A. Matteson, 62, of Central Square, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Christine was a native of Syracuse who grew up on River Road in Brewerton. She lived in Cleveland for over 20 years before moving to Central Square in 2006. Chris was the daughter of the late Alfred and Joyce (Watkins) Spears.

Christine worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Clay and then in Central Square since 1997. She enjoyed amateur photography and spending time with her grandchildren. Chris was a member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Matteson, Jr. in 1976.

Christine leaves behind her two children: Lora (Louie) Bowers of Westmoreland and Michael (Martha) Matteson of OK; a brother, Douglas Spears of Central Square; and her seven grandchildren: Brandon, Kristy, Terry, Amanda, Jesse, Austen, and Logan.

Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, Mattydale, with a service following at 7 pm. Burial will be Tuesday, 11 am, in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish.
