Janet E. Millis (VanDenburg)

July 5, 1920 — December 14, 2015

Janet E. (VanDenburg) Millis, 95, resided in Westvale and formerly summered in Tully Lake Park with her loving husband, Harold, for over 68 years. Mrs. Millis was born in Dolgeville, NY in 1920 to the late Albert and Lydia VanDenburg.

She attended Syracuse University and graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC. Mrs. Millis was a member of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir, cross-word puzzles and playing cards. Janet’s greatest enjoyment in life was her family.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Harold Millis, in 2011 and by her granddaughter, Shannon Froio, in 2007.

Surviving are her three daughters: Nancy (Roger) Millis Miles of Central Square, Lynn (Vincent) Evans of Camillus, and Gayle (Martin) Withrow of Chittenango; a son: Gary V. (Sally) Millis of Canastota; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Contributions in Janet's memory may be made to Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 126 South Terry Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 9th, from 12 - 2 pm at Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm. Private Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery, Mayfield, NY.
