Garth Mingle

Garth P. Mingle, 81, of Mattydale, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at home. Born in Lackawanna, NY, the son of the late Arthur and Ida (Hawkins) Mingle, Garth was a 1955 graduate of Dunkirk High School.

Garth was a U.S. Army veteran who retired in 1992 from Bristol-Meyers Squibb after 33 years as a Chemical Technician. He was a lifetime member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept where he was affectionately nicknamed "Moose," a member of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale and worked as a Crossing Guard near Roxboro and St. Margaret's Schools. Garth was a member of St. Margaret's Church.

He is survived by four children: Cheryl Kolodzie of Mattydale, Susan (Tim) Young of Mattydale, Wendy (Daniel Byrne) Chipperfield of Syracuse and Paul (Melanie) Mingle of Cicero; a sister: Arbuta McKee of Buffalo; eight grandchildren: Charles, Chris, Rachel, Joey, Jeffrey, Briannah, Mason, and Hannah; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services are Monday, 12 pm, at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
