Olive Giles

Olive Giles, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, November 9^th, 2023, at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Brooklyn and Queens before moving to Syracuse in 2008, Olive was born to the late Napoleon and Dorothy (Williams) Arrington.

She retired after 27 years as an assembler with Ideal Corporation in Brooklyn. She was proud to be on the team that developed intermittent flashers for the auto industry. Olive was a frequent flyer at the casinos in Atlantic City and an avid NY Mets fan. Also, Olive loved listening to music and dancing to it as well.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Gilbert Bailey in 1981 and by her second husband, David Giles in 2001. Olive was also predeceased by her daughters, Michelle Bailey and Patricia Braithwaite, her brother, Napoleon Arrington Jr., and a grandson, Keith David.

Surviving are her children, Renee Mason of Syracuse with whom she resided, Naceo (Inga) Giles of Brooklyn, and Benjamin (Odessa) Giles of New Jersey; and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
