Catherine M. "Kate" Osinski

December 25, 1940 — July 11, 2016

Catherine "Kate" M. Osinski, 75, of Audrey Drive in North Syracuse, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero. Born and raised in Syracuse, Kate graduated from Cathedral High School and studied Nursing Care. She was the daughter of the late Harlow and Maryjane (Coleman) Wilcox.

Kate worked in the Nursery at St. Mary's Hospital and later as a Teacher's Aide for Special Education at Main Street School in north Syracuse. She loved sharing her time and caring for all the small children of her family and friends and served as a surrogate grandmother to many. Kate was a longtime communicant and active parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Francis "Frank" Osinski, in June 2015.

Kate is survived by their three children: Jim (Denise) Osinski of Morrisville, Lisa Osinski of Liverpool, and Bill Osinski of North Syracuse; her siblings, Norma Rother of Syracuse, Tom Wilcox of Jordan, Joe Wilcox of North Syracuse, Sister Vincent Louise Wilcox of Detroit, MI, and Jerry Wilcox of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews; and by a grand-dog, Indy.

Contributions in Kate's memory may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool.
