Nellie Quinn

Nellie Quinn, 94, of Mattydale, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. She grew up on the West side of Syracuse and was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational School. Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She put others first before herself. She loved being with her family, playing lottery and bingo. Nellie also enjoyed arts and craft projects for her family and friends. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten. Her inspiration will live on in us forever.

Nellie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Podsiedlik, her husband, Joseph P. Quinn and her son, Michael F. Quinn.

Nellie is survived by her three children: Patrick (Pauline) Quinn of North Syracuse, Richard Quinn, and Cheryl LeBlanc, both of Mattydale; seven grandchildren, Katie (John) Luhr, Keith (Erin) LeBlanc, Tim (Lucy) Quinn, Christopher Quinn, Matthew Quinn, Peter (Martha) Quinn, and Teresa McCandless; nine great grandchildren: Travis, Ethan, Avery, Brittney, Joey, Taylor, Ashley, Michayla, and Isabelle; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please extend an act of kindness to a family member, friend or stranger in memory of Nellie.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside Services will be held in May at Assumption Cemetery.
