Ronald Reeves

Ronald B. Reeves, Sr., 74, of Lower Road in West Monroe, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Ronald was a native of Syracuse and resided in West Monroe since 1977. He was the son of the late Chester B. and Mildred Case Reeves.
He retired in 1974 from the US Air Force after 20 years as a jet engine mechanic and maintenance inspector at various Air Force bases in the U.S. including Dow AFB in Bangor, ME, Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ, as well as being stationed in England for several years. Ronald was also a Vietnam War veteran. Since then, he worked as an expeditor at Carrier Corporation in Syracuse for 8 years and for the Federal Civil Service at Hancock AFB. Ronald was an AF & AM at the Rising Virtue Lodge in Bangor, ME for 45 years, a member of the VFW Post #7325 in Constantia and a member of the American Legion Post #858 in Cleveland. He loved playing golf and was a member of North Shore Golf Course. Ronald was a member of Amazing Grace Christian Fellowship in Cleveland.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, the former Nola M.Becker; five children: Stephanie David Jones of Joplin, MO, Jodi Scott, Ronald Reeves, Jr., and Steven Tammy Reeves, all of West Monroe, and Kathleen Tom Rivera of Tucson, AZ; three brothers: Chester Reeves of Peterboro, Ralph Reeves of FL, and Dan Belge of TX; eleven grandchildren: Cory, Sam, Trevor, Billy Joe, Kayla, Nathan, Joshua, Mandi, Justin, Madison, Cassi, and several great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, 2pm, followed by burial in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
