January 2, 1933 — January 6, 2023

Brewerton

Robert “Bob” D. Prahl, Sr., 90, of Brewerton, passed away Friday, January 6th, 2023. A native of North Syracuse, Bob attended North Syracuse High School with the class of 1951. He resided in Brewerton for the past 31 years.

Bob was a millwright at Crucible Specialty Metals in Solvay for 40 years before his retirement in 1990. He was a founding member of the Central Square Rod and Gun Club. Bob loved building and flying radio-controlled airplanes and was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming on his 80 acres of land. There was nothing he couldn’t do; from building houses from the ground up to fixing anything with an engine. Bob’s love of his family always came first; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle.

Bob was predeceased by his siblings, his best friend and brother-in-law, Ralph Pellizzeri, and by an infant son, Thomas Prahl.

He is survived by his loving bride of 69 years, the former Elena (Pellizzeri); a daughter, Linda Liszka and a son, Robert “Bobby” Prahl, Jr, both of Brewerton; four grandchildren: Nicole (Ken) Williams of Brewerton, Justin (Melinda) Liszka of Oak Ridge, NC, Amanda Liszka of Brewerton, and Austin (Tracy Cashier) Liszka of Baldwinsville and his great grandchildren: Lily, Sofia, Jude, Adrina, and Addie. Additionally, Uncle “Kid” will be missed by all of his nieces, nephews, and close family friends.

Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept #142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
