Robin Rose Kelly, 68, of Eastwood, passed away Saturday, April 13th at University Hospital. Robin was born to the late Rose (Seminara) and Robert Caruth. Robin received her associate degree from Onondaga Community College where she was a pitcher on the Women's Softball team and also from Bryant & Statton.
She was a social worker for Onondaga County Department of Social Services in Syracuse in the 1980s.
Robin worked with children and was a caretaker in her home for many years. Known for her kindness and generosity, Robin was both creative and highly fashionable; she also worked as a model in the 1980's and was featured in the Post Standard. Robin was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale throughout the years and most recently at The Reformed Church of Syracuse.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Samantha Grosso, Joseph Grosso, and Jackie Grosso Schwalm, her dear cousin, Sharon Liepka, and a son-in-law, Glenn Winney.
Robin is survived by her loving daughters, Jenniffer Rose (Richard) Benedetto and Margaret Banker, both of Syracuse; two grandchildren, RJ Benedetto and Riley Winney; a brother, Thomas Grosso of AZ; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Contributions in Robin's memory may be made to a charity of your choice to assist with domestic violence or brain injury research. The family wishes to thank the phenomenal nurses and doctors at University Hospital on Unit 6A. They are also grateful to the amazing spiritual care team.
Robin’s Celebration of Life will be held on June 22, 2024, from 1-4 pm at The Reformed Church of Syracuse 1228 Teal Ave. Syracuse, NY 13206.
