Sally J. Brisson

January 19, 1933 — September 8, 2025

Baldwinsville

Sally J. Brisson, 92, of Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville, entered the house of the Lord peacefully on September 8, 2025. Prior to her passing, nearly the entire family visited and extended their unwavering love. Sally, originally from Utica, was the daughter of the late Glenn L. and Mary Electa (Cartwright) Perrigo. She spent her early years in the Valley section of Syracuse and lived on Wilbert Drive in Pitcher Hill for over 67 years alongside her family. A 1950 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy, Sally belonged to Kappa Epsilon Sorority and served as President of the Social Debutante Club. Following high school, she attended Syracuse University and worked in the Bursar’s office. Sally then dedicated herself to her husband and family, focusing her career on raising the children.

Sally deeply loved and adored her late husband, Joseph, to whom she was married for over 70 years. They were the perfect couple you saw holding hands all throughout their marriage. Furthermore, her awe-inspiring love and pride for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family was immeasurable. She would just “light up” and be in her glory whenever family was around. Sally was also widely known for her compassion, kindness and empathy. She was sincerely admired for her willingness to help others in any way possible.

Sally played numerous sports and was an exceptional athlete. She began her athletic participation in ice skating, softball, swimming and biking in the Valley. After marriage, Sally bowled and golfed with her husband in various leagues across the Syracuse area, earning many awards. She was also highly skilled at table tennis, in which she dominated all participants for years.

Sally cherished baking wedding and birthday cakes, as well as cookies for her family and friends. Playing card games, especially pinochle, was a favorite leisure activity. She also loved playing and teaching the piano, while being blessed with a beautiful singing voice. Sally took sincere pride in maintaining her beautiful home that she had built for her and entertained her family and friends as much as possible. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to beautiful locations. Sally always looked forward to watching the Winter Olympics, particularly ice skating and supporting the NY Yankees and SU sports teams. Sally was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a Religious Education Teacher.

Dearly loved and adored by her family and all who knew her, she will always be remembered in our hearts.

Sally is predeceased by her late husband of 70+ years, Joseph H. C. Brisson; a sister, Beverly Gunderson; three brothers: Glen Leland “Lee” Perrigo Jr., Robert J. “Bobby” Perrigo, and Kevin C. “Pops” Perrigo Sr.; a niece, Barbara Higgens; a grandchild, Allan “Lucas” Brisson; and a great grandchild, Josette Freeman.

Sally is survived by her five children: Denise (Scott) Harris of Lakeland, Alan (Josie Campbell) Brisson of Dewitt, Gary (Diane) Brisson, William (Tonya) Brisson of Baldwinsville, and Michele (John) Crawford of Florida; 12 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Contributions in Sally’s memory may be made to Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville.
