Stan Shakalinski, 62, life resident of Mattydale, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Francis House in Syracuse. Stan attended North Syracuse Schools with the class of 1975.
He was a professional painter for various companies in the area, has worked in construction, and had previously worked as a cook for the former Howard Johnson Restaurant in Northern Lights. For the past 13 years Stan had worked at the Franciscan Mother House and most recently, the Franciscan Villa in Liverpool as a driver. What Stan cherished most in life were his three grandchildren. He was an avid bowler participating on many area leagues; he also played baseball and was a wrestler while in high school. He was a big New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins and Syracuse University sports fan.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, John “Sky” and Mildred King and his great grandmother, Mattie Buckley who raised him, his father, Stanley Sr., two aunts, Cassie Stanley and Ruth Hare,
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rachael (Prince) Van Buskirk and her husband, Pete; three grandchildren: Kazmirra, JaHannah, and Jeiryn; his brother, Marty (Grace) Shakalinski and a niece, Nicole, all of North Syracuse: an uncle, Bob (Carol) King of Texas. Also surviving are his mother, Jacqueline Toth of Liverpool; a brother, Joseph (Tina) Toth of Liverpool; two nephews and several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday,10 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
