Gail D. Shearer (Helfer)

Gail D. Shearer, 78, longtime resident of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Monday at home. Gail was an avid bowler, golfer, and loved casinos. She was a retired school bus driver from Liverpool Central School District and maintained a summer home with her husband, Bill, on Otty Lake in Perth, Ontario Canada for many years.

Gail was predeceased by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William N. "Bill" Shearer; their three children: Marshelle "Shelli" (Bill) DeRoche of Hilton Head Island, SC, William H. (Brenda) Shearer of Bernhards Bay, and Diane (John) Gaca of Clay; her sister, Marcia (Fred) Strauss of Greece, NY; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Shirley Helfer of Ontario, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

All services will be private. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
