Barbara A. Spier (Teachout)

Barbara A. (Teachout) Spier, 81, of Mattydale, passed away late Friday night at University Hospital. Barbara was raised in Bridgeport and resided in Mattydale for the last 57 years.
Barbara worked at Syracuse China Corporation during the 1950's She spent most of her time over the next 60 years caring for and raising her five children. Barbara enjoyed bird watching and tending to her flowers.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Lester Spier in 2009.
Barbara is survived by her five children: John (Kathy) of Surprise, AZ, Tom (Pam) of Phoenix, Tim, Lori (Ernie) Snyder, and Scott all of Mattydale; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, 11 am, at the funeral home followed by burial in Collamer Cemetery, East Syracuse.
