Robert Teachout

Robert Y. Teachout, 83, of Mattydale, died Friday at home. A native of Weedsport, Robert was the son of the late Charles H. and Inez (Yager) Teachout.

He retired in 1992 after many years as an employee of Syracuse China in Syracuse. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #1832 and a long time member of the Pastime Athletic Club. He was an avid racing fan watching his grandchildren race at many levels on local tracks.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joan Teachout in 2011.

He is survived by their four children: Linda (David) Smith, Beverly Neave, all of Mattydale, Robert K. (Tracy) Teachout of West Monroe, and David Y. (Mary Kay) Teachout of Bridgeport; his five siblings: Walter, Charles, and Keith Teachout, Barbara Spicer and Beverly Taylor; ten grandchildren: Pamela, Vanessa, Spencer, Michael, Cassandra, Brian, Nicholle, Brandon, Marissa, and Destiny; and eight great grandchildren: Tanner, Avery, Carson, Brady, Landon, Julianna, Gavin and Clayton.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
