David P. Vrooman Sr.

David P. Vrooman, Sr., 79, of Holiday, Florida, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. David was a native of Auburn who resided most of his life in Central Square before moving South to Florida in 2007. He was the son of the late Paul and Mary E. (MacArthur) Vrooman.
David served in the National Guard for eight years during the 1960's. He retired in 1985 after 30 years at General Electric in Syracuse.
David was predeceased by his wife, the former Charmaine Burnette in 1998.
He is survived by two daughters: Laurie Gapski of Hastings, and Terry Grivois of Roanoke, VA; three sons: David P. Vrooman, Jr. of Holiday, FL, Steven Vrooman of Hastings, and Aaron Vrooman of Central Square; his nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
At David's request, all services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Hastings Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 241, Hastings, NY 13076.
