William J. Walker, Sr., 74, lifelong resident of Solvay, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015, at home with his family. William attended Solvay High and was the son of the late Stanley and Georgia (Snyder) Walker.
William retired in 2011 after 20 years as a molder at Meloon Foundries in Syracuse. He was an avid bowler and was a member of various leagues throughout Syracuse. William bowled on the Channel 3 Championship Bowls and accomplished 10 "Perfect 300" games during his career. He also enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and frequenting the casino.
William was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Bernice, in 2010.
He is survived by their two sons: William "Billy Joe" (Mary Sue) Walker and Robert "Bobby" (Mary) Walker, both of Solvay; a sister, Georgianne Wojtalewski of Solvay; six grandchildren: Nicole, Jessica, Billy, Justin, Tyler, and Bridget; four great grandchildren:, Ryan, Peyton, Lexi, and Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 - 8 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a funeral service following at 8:00 pm.
