Margaret Weeden

September 15, 1924 — February 16, 2011

Margaret V. Weeden, 86, died Wednesday at The Crossing in Minoa. Margaret was a native of Syracuse and had resided at 298 County Route 11 in West Monroe for 36 years before moving to The Crossings at Minoa in 2008. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel Endres.
Margaret was a 1942 graduate of North Syracuse High School. She retired in 1989 after 25 years as the manager of the Lunch Box on James Street in Syracuse. She also worked at Remington Rand and Crouse Hinds during the war. Margaret was a long time member of the American Legion Post 1832 Ladies Auxiliary and past state president of La Societe de Femmes which supports the veterans of the 40 & 8.
She was predeceased by her husbands: George Van Deuson in 1967, Albert Johnson in 1974, and Leslie Weeden in 2000, her sons: Alan and David Van Deuson, a brother: Edwin Endres, and her step-daughters: Wendy Johnson and Barbara Malkowski.
Surviving are her seven children: Bruce Van Deuson of Barnardsville, NC, Sandra Ken Harris of Bridgeport, Cheryl David Marshall of Evansville, IN, George Van Deuson of West Monroe, Diane Lynn Tucker of Canandaigua, Tommy Dawn Van Deuson of Liverpool, and Michael Chris Van Deuson of West Monroe; her two sisters: Jean Stahl of Central Square, and Kathryn Miller of San Diego, CA; two step-children: Dennis Johnson, and Joyce Barrett; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, 10 am, followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.
