Michelle Whitehead Hastings, 38, of Surprise, AZ, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2015, with the loving arms of her family around her. She was born on June 21, 1976 in Syracuse to James and Lee (Aletha Babcock) Whitehead, formerly of Mattydale.
She graduated from Cicero High School in 1994 and attended Oswego State University and Onondaga Community College before being accepted into the Walt Disney World College Study Program, which resulted in lifelong friendships with her cast members.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Lee Hastings; her cherished children, daughter Julia and son Kevin; her loving parents James and Lee Whitehead, all of Surprise AZ; her brothers James Whitehead (Thomas Harper) of Stockholm, Sweden, Gregory (Adrianne) Whitehead, and Robert; and her two nieces, Isabella and Elizabeth Michelle, all of Mattydale.
Michelle has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arizona Assistance in Health Care, an organization that provided her family with significant support during her illness. http://www.arizonaassistanceinhealthcare.com/donate/
A celebration honoring Michelle’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Mattydale Fire Department, 173 East Molloy Road, Mattydale, NY from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where family and friends may come and share their memories of her. Services were held privately in Arizona.
